Air Industrial belt drive air compressor single phase

This model of belt drive air compressor is ideal for the majority of tyre shops that has a few pieces of equipment or tools that require air. It is ideal for running smaller air tools such as ½” impact wrenches and tyre buffing tools as well as standard tyre machinery. This model comes as a receiver mounted model (tank included) and in various tank capacities. Each machine is hand built in Britain, conforms to all relevant standards and is fitted with a safety valve and a quick release air outlet as standard.

The 100 litre Air compressor model is ideal for small workshops with only one or two operators and minimal air tools. For larger shops or where there are multiple operators using air at the same time, the 150 litre air compressor or the 200 litre air compressor may be a better option.

If you are asking yourself “What size air compressor do I need?” then we have all the information available in our blog section. Simply put though, in order to ensure you don’t have to wait for the tank to fill for a long time but instead ensure a short wait for air, follow this rule.

Take the CFM rating of all the tools that you use and find the highest rated one. You then times this value by 1.5 to get the CFM size you need. If for instance your Impact wrenches operate at 4 cfm, you multiply 4 x 1.5 to get 6cfm. This is the air compressor pump size you require. If you operate multiple tools simultaneously (multiple operators), simply add up the total cfm of the tools that are likely to be used at once and multiply by the 1.5

Tank Capacity

Combined with the pump size, the air receiver size will determine the performance of your compressor. A standard compressor works by producing compressed air and feeding it to a vessel. Once that vessel reaches a set pressure (normally 10bar) then a pressure switch within the system shuts of the pump. As air is used out of the compressor, the pressure drops in the tank and that same pressure regulator will activate the pump unit when a set pressure is reached (normally 7 or 8 bar). You may well have seen on equipment, particularly tyre changers and air tools, a stated required air supply of 8 – 10 bar. This refers to the pressure regulator settings on your compressor.

It goes without saying that the larger the vessel or air receiver you have, the more compressed air will be available at any given time. It is about striking a balance though as if your air receiver is too large, you could be waiting a long time for it to fill up and the pump will only operate infrequently. Believe it or not, a compressor needs to run to ensure a long life, leaving it idle can be as bad as over working it. The guidelines are that your pump should be running 60%-70% of the time during the working day.

So, picking the right receiver is based on your business really. If you are a small operation with a fairly standard work flow, 100 litre would suffice. If you are a multi operator shop, that experiences peaks in the mornings say, or around lunch time the larger receiver options would be best.

Airlines and quick release fittings.

There is probably not enough space on the internet to cover all airline fittings and accessories! Airlines and quick release couplings are the most common items you will need and we carry a full range of these quick release couplings and adaptors along with airline and hoses in varying lengths to suit your application. If you have a more complex application then feel free to give us a call and speak to one of our experts regarding compressors and ancillary fittings.

Air compressors for spray guns, shot blasting and spraying.

When carrying out compressed air processes that involve spray painting, shot blasting or other air heavy activities, you will need a much bigger compressor for this operation. Once you exceed a requirement of 27cfm / 30cfm you need to be looking at a screw compressor.

Air compressors all produce compressed air, but not in the same way. A screw compressor is, as you may guess from the name, a way of producing compressed air by a screw action. This is a more efficient way of making compressed air and also means that a compressor can constantly run. This provides air at the correct pressure with very little fluctuation.

To speak to us about our range of Screw, high pressure, silenced or bespoke air compressors just pick up the phone and we’d be glad to help you.
